Caldera and island Nea Kamani
I want to represent the island of Santorini through Caldera, the impressive and spectacular natural amphitheatre of this island, which belongs to the Cyclades archipelago. The volcano’s cone is located on the island Nea Kamani; the sea bathes the high cliff (its high varies from 100 to 300 meters) originated with the split of the island caused by an earthquake.

The town Firá is swamped by tourist shops, some with interesting craft objects.
We started the tour of the island from its most significant town: Firá (also called Thira). We can see it in the photo-gallery with a shot taken from the village Pyrgos. Over the town of Firá there is the one of Imerovigli, another characteristic village. Santorini harbour can be reached on foot or by mule and, recently, also with a modern cable way.

SantoriniPerivolas Village
We stayed in Perivolas, a suburb of the town of Oia, the second largest town of Santorini. The homonymous village, degrading on the Caldera, is characterized by well- furnished accommodations carved in the rocky slope.
